Sadhya is traditionally a vegetarian meal served on a banana leaf. People are seated cross-legged on the floor on a mat. All the dishes are served on the leaf and eaten with the hands without using any cutlery. The fingers are cupped to form a ladie. A Sadhya can have about 24-28 dishes served as a single course.
What is best than finishing the week with a touch of Ghibli ? Kudos to Komboh, the awesome graphic design team from Canada, who design this nice piece for the Calgary Comic Expo 2013.

Shots of the setup for my friend Theresa BrownGold’s art show opening at the Pebble Hill church today, April 7 2013. The church showcases local artists’ work every month. Theresa is a documentary portrait painter whose latest project is about healthcare in the US. She has painted close to 50 stories of which half will be on display at Pebble Hill. All the portraits can be seen on her website and this is an awesome video bio of her.
I recently visited a Restaurant Depot in Philadelphia where I saw commercial packaging of products used by restaurants and food businesses in the area. Here’s a collection of a few images that I believe best capture the contrast between consumer and commercial packaging design in the US. I am used to seeing plastic buckets, tubs and jugs contain cleaning goods and hardware supplies but never imagined the same were being used to carry wholesale packs of some (of the grossest) food products. While I understand the practical need for wholesale packaging, I find it amusing to see how much more distressing all the products look.
